Day 1- Exhausting, Delirious Magic

So, who cares if I spell anything wrong--I'm exhausted. :-) Which leads me to the topic of this blog. On the bus ride back to the resort room from Epcot, I had mentally "written" my first blog. It went something like this:
"I can't blog tonight. Day 1 was absolutely exhausting."
Well, then I got to my room...and there was a surprise.
A little background: I was reading my 850-page Unofficial WDW Guide at some point and came across the "Addresses you may need" chart. I noticed an address for "Letters to Mickey." I had never considered such a thing, but I added it to my list of things to do before Sept. 6th. It didn't get done until this week, and Shelby added the finishing touches with her finger crayons on the bus ride from the airport. Tim handed it to the lady at the desk while he was checking in. It went something like this:
Tim:"Here is a letter to Mickey."
Cast Member: "A letter to me?"
Tim:"No, Mickey"
Cast Member: "Oh (she looked around behind the desk as if Mickey might be back there overseeing the staff), I'll give it to him in a minute."
Well, other than laughing at Tim for so loyally completing the task, it was forgotten. UNTIL we got into our resort room tonight. On my bed was a package attached to three balloons. The package had two extra large "First WDW Visit" pins (Shelby wrote in Mickey's letter that it was her and DaDa's first time--and of course they're going to wear the pins this week!!!!), Shelby's first collectable Disney metal pin, and a 5x7" photo of Mickey & Minnie on Dumbo (Shelby wrote in the letter that she was excited about riding the Dumbo ride). The photo is in a holder and is personally signed by Mickey & Minnie with a note addressed specifically to Shelby.
I giggled like a child! And, of course, Shelby did too. How is it that they can be so busy yet so personal with their guests?!?!?!!!!
And...since I'm blogging through my exhaustion...Tim couldn't care less about the surprise from Mickey, but he is LOVING Disney World. He was almost beside himself at the idea of riding/seeing everything at Epcot as we left tonight...we have 6 FULL days to go. I think he's decided that he's just not going to sleep...he's just going to do EVERYTHING he can while we're here. I haven't told him yet that everything closes so the kiddos can sleep. :-)
Shelby...wow. Giggles, Dimples, "Whoooaaaa," "Wheeee," Clapping, Can't-Sleep-For-Fear-Of-Missing-Something, Absolute Delight. In the middle of Spaceship Earth, Shelby was so happy that I was rewarded with a heart-melting thank you kiss.
Good night.
